Google has opened applications for the fourth installment of its accelerator for Canadian startups.

Named Startups Accelerator Canada, the 10-week virtual program is designed to bring Google’s programs, products, people, and technology to startups that use machine learning and artificial intelligence today or plan to in the future.

Helcim and MintList were among the 12 startups that took part in the previous cohort of Startups Accelerator Canada this year.

Applications for the fourth cohort of Startups Accelerator Canada are due on February 1st and the program will kick off on March 21. Like all of Google’s accelerators, Startups Accelerator Canada is equity free. It will conclude with a Demo Day on May 25. The program is open to startups headquartered in Canada across all sectors, and Google plans to take in up to 12 participants for the accelerator’s latest cohort.

Startups Accelerator Canada was launched in Kitchener-Waterloo in 2020, representing Google’s first Canadian-focused accelerator program.

Google has since rolled out five additional accelerator programs for Canadian companies, which include the Cloud Accelerator, Women Founders Accelerator, Black Founders Accelerator, and Climate Change Accelerator. Last year, Google also launched Voice AI, an accelerator program focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development.

In addition to mentorship and technical project support, the Startups Accelerator Canada also includes workshops focused on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development.

Over 30 startups have graduated from Startups Accelerator Canada since the program was established, and Google claims that its alumni companies have gone on to raise more than $140 million CAD, collectively.

Helcim, Ukko Agro, Fyye, and MintList were among the 12 startups that took part in this year’s cohort of Startups Accelerator Canada.

In August, Google unveiled three Canadian startups that were selected for Google’s Women Founders accelerator, and another three founders from Canada that were chosen for the Black Founders accelerator.
